Vasthi means medicated enema and it is the leading amongst all Panchakarma treatments.The effectiveness is very high when medicines reach your bowels directly without enzymatic actions. so vasthi is also done along with many other Ayurvedic treatments. Vasthi is considered as "half the treatment" due to it's potential healing ability.Medicated enemas are used for different specific reasons. Commonly this treatment is used to flush the loosened doshas out through the intestinal tract. There are over 100 specific enemas listed in Ayurveda.
